August 2022 Mexico Shoe Give
August 2022 Mission re-cap:
“Over 100 pairs” of 360Mox were given. We taught a dozen kids to surf. We cleaned up a local park with some fresh paint. We visited 5 different locations to wash children’s feet, and of those 4 were spontaneous (based on the needs of the children we saw playing or walking). The needs were many but our few missionaries were up to all the tasks!
Memorable moments:
Asking the kids to test the speed or jumping ability of their new shoes.
The little boy that got right in there and helped with passing stuff out and measuring kids’ feet.
Connecting with the kids, regardless of the language barrier.
Learning that some wore their parents’ shoes because they weren’t allowed to get their good/school/church shoes dirty during play.
The mission isn’t over. If we’ve learned anything this trip, it was that we can serve and make a difference no matter where we are!
